Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Job

Proverbs 1-4; 10

In 1:13-"we shall find all kinds of costly things; we shall fill our houses with booty." What is booty referring to?

Proverbs is basically the same as the ten commandments. By following the Lord’s words and doing as he says, good will come to all those who accept and follow, but to those that do not follow in God’s words, harm and evil shall come to them. But in the text the mention of “her” and “she” is said. Who is this woman that it is referring to? Because it is as if it is not the lord’s words, but is of a female, perhaps a prophet?

Ecclesiastes 1-3

What is vanity referring to?

We are to accept all things that come to us, whether it is good or bad and if it harms us or not. There are all types of different experiences and obviously God wanted us to experience them all in these passages. But do we really need to accept them? Are we being told that everything that has happened to us, is what God wanted for us, or is this just the meaning of life? Learn to live with everything that comes our way and try to make the best of it.

Job 1-10; 41-42

Since when does the Lord listen to Satan about anything? Isn’t the Lord great and powerful because he makes his own decisions? Because I don’t see how Job deserves anything that he had gotten. I know he had a fear of God, but he never really turned him away, not too mention he never cursed, that is until his family was killed and he cursed is own birth.

In 10:10, what did Job mean by “Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese?” What is this metaphor referring to?

In Job 41-42, The Lord recognized that all that was said of him to Job by Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite was nothing but lies, and he restored to Job everything that he lost. He also brought back his family, so does that mean the Lord can bring back the dead after they are gone, and if so wouldn’t that be destroying the orderly balance of things?
