Joshua 1-6

In Joshua chapter 4, God was in appraisal by the Israelites after God dried up all the land for the Israelites to cross over Jordan as they did with the Red Sea. In verse 24, "so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, and so that you may fear the LORD your God forever." Why would God want the people to fear him? I can understand so that they dont run to any other God's, but that would be my reason for going to another God. Because I would be fearful of my own. And in any case how is seperating the waters and making dry land going to make the people fear God? Just to prove that he can do anything?

My other question revolves around Chapter 5. If the Israelites have already been circumcised, why do they need to be circumcised for a second time?!
